Genuine Toyota Transaxle with the newer style dual cone synchros on 2nd gear and a limited slip differential. This is an excellent upgrade for 90-92 MR2's that have worn out synchros, or are pushing higher horsepower and need the added benefit of better traction provided by the limited slip unit.

KO Racing has determined through rebuilding Loki's transmission that the new transmissions produced after 2001/2002 at least do not have a dual cone synchro on 3rd gear, but rather an improved single cone synchro as is equiped on the Toyota Camry Solara transmissions. Being that Loki's 3rd gear was the first to fail in shifting (after 4 years and 100-200 drag strip passes), it is not clear that this is a superior design to the dual cone, or if it was done as a cost savings by Toyota.

*Note: it is required to machine one or both of the 90-92 inner axle stubs for them to fit into the transaxle's diff, or purchase the axle stubs for a 93+ car with limited slip.
