Beyond being a basic pin-out and connector interface to allow the option to "plug and play" with the Link ecu, we have gone a step further by integrating the necessary design features to include an on-board 7 bar map sensor and, optionally, an ECU output controlled on-board wideband. Using these options can cut down on installation time dramatically, and the on-board ecu control of the wideband means you can promote longer sensor life than the typical installation of a wideband controller wired to key-on 12v supply by using a logic output on the ecu to control when the wideband turns on. Once this Plug-in ecu assembly is installed in the factory case, installation can become as simple as mounting the ecu in the factory location, running a wideband sensor and cable to the ecu, running a vacuum line to the ecu from the intake manifold, and plug in the supplied USB cable and start tuning.
Directly bolts into the 1996 or 1997 Miata MX5 engine control unit case. The board is made such that it can also be physically fit into a 1999-2005 Miata MX5 ecu cases, though those later cases will require trimming at the connector opening, and the mounting brackets for the vehicle are different.
NOTE: Price does *NOT* include a Link Plug-In ecu control board or ECU Case, but will include the cost of a Gen 4 specific base startup calibration. The base calibration is intended only to get the vehicle started and running. Tuning by an experienced tuner will be required or possible serious engine damage could occur.
NOTE: This product is intended for tuning manual transmission vehicles and includes no provisions for automatic transmission control. It is intended primarily for the 1996-1997 Mazda Miata NA8 vehicles but can control engines swapped in from other years, or even from other manufacturers as well (01-05 VVTi motors swapped into the NA8 Chassis for example).
NOTE: ECU case not included with ECU purchase as shown in image above. You must reuse your OEM 96-97 ECU case.
NOTE: Picture shown above with custom CAN bus expansion harness, not included in purchase price of KO Racing adapter board. The board pictured above shows a link ecu top board as well, but that is not included with this purchase.
NOTE: This is *NOT* a LINK ECU tested, verified, and warranted product. Use of this product may void your warranty with Link, and give them grounds to refuse any support. Purchase of this product constitutes your consent with, and understanding of these statements. This is a custom adapter product that can make use of a Link plug-in product. KO Racing is not directly affiliated with LINK or LINK ECU in any way, and are making this product available to expand the possibilities of the Link ECU Product line to a wider consumer base.
*Recommeded*: Purchase a Link G4X Plug-in For a Miata MX5, or Mitsubishi VR4, or Mitsubishi Evo 1-3, or Subaru WRX V1 or V2 to use with this adapter board. These are available on our site Here.
